Proper Disposal Options

Here are a few responsible options for disposal of items that we often see dumped illegally in Scott County.

• Appliances: Curbside pickup is available at no extra charge for Davenport and Bettendorf residents with city garbage and recycling services. For more information, call Davenport, (563) 326-7732, or Bettendorf, (563) 344-4088. Appliances also may be recycled at the Scott Area Landfill for a $6 fee.

• Construction & demolition materials: Accepted from Scott County for disposal at the Scott Area Landfill for $35/ton. Some building materials in like-new condition may be donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Davenport. Call (563) 391-4949 to inquire.

• Electronics: Residents of Scott and Rock Island counties may drop off residential e-waste (items with a cathode-ray tube or a circuit board) at no charge at the Electronics Recovery Center, 5650 Carey Ave., Davenport between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Curbside pickup is available at no extra charge for Davenport and Bettendorf residents with city garbage and recycling services. • Furniture: Items in good condition may be donated to area resale shops, including Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Davenport. Call (563) 391-4949 to inquire.

• Tires: The Scott Area Landfill accepts four tires per year per Scott County household at no charge.
